The Essential Guide to Managing Employees

"Customers will never love a company until the employees love it first". This quote from Simon Sinek suggests that employees come before customers. And he is not alone in his thinking. Infact the research proves that there is a positive relationship between happy employees and the bottom line.

As an employer, the onus is on you to manage both the performance and welfare of your employees - so your business can flourish. This may sound daunting, given the numerous (and ever changing) regulations and requirements that you need to be aware of. It doesn't need to be.

Our employment specialist, April Jenkin, will walk you through the basics including:

  • Minimum wage requirements

  • Kiwisaver employer obligations

  • Legislation updates around employment (trial periods, meal breaks)

  • Employment agreements

  • Contractors vs employees

  • Payment of statutory holidays (casual and permanent)

  • ACC invoices explained

As an informal workshop, you will have the opportunity to discuss particular issues as well as understanding what actions you need to take to improve the performance of your business.

We welcome clients and non-clients - there is no obligation and no sales pitch - just the opportunity to learn something new, talk with April or simply get some inspiration.
