Cliff Whitelaw - Over 35 Years at the Helm
After over thirty-five years as co-director of Whitelaw Weber....
Cliff Whitelaw is retiring.
The end of a chapter
The time has come for Cliff to pack up his calculator and pull out the golf clubs. In March 2018, after more than 35 years of looking after local families and businesses, Cliff will be stepping down to spend more time with his own family (along with his snowboard and golf clubs). While we will be sad to see him go, he will still be calling into the office for Friday drinks!
During his time as an accountant he has supported thousands of families, individuals and local businesses with finance and tax advice and has delighted in seeing his local community grow. In addition to supporting and encouraging clients, he has served on the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand – Northland Committee and headed up the tax committee. Outside of the office, Cliff has played a huge part in the Far North community that he grew up in, from district councillor and chairperson of the finance committee through to Kaikohe community board member and committee member for the Kaikohe Golf & Squash Club. Cliff has been an active member of the Kaikohe Rotary Club and member (and president) of the Kaikohe Lions Club.
During his retirement Cliff hopes to spend more time on the slopes snowboarding as well as spending time with his family and grandchildren (who are spread around the world). It is safe to say that the Whitelaw Weber team and clients are going to miss Cliff when he departs at the end of March. He has been an inspirational part of our team. We look forward to following his adventures when he pops into the office for Friday drinks!
And the start of a new one
Ensuring our clients continue to have a trusted relationship with Whitelaw Weber is a key focus at this time. As a result, Cliff has been busy introducing clients to Annika Dickey, Paul Young and Wayne Weber. As members of the Whitelaw Weber leadership team, these accountants are hugely experienced so we know that Cliff’s clients will be in safe hands.
If you would like more information about our team or Cliff’s plans for the future, please give us a call.
We would love you to write a message to Cliff, or share a thought about him & help us farewell him the way he deserves!
